The award of a $16.3 million HOPE VI grant in 2000 has provided for the redevelopment of the old Garden Homes site into a premier mixed-housing development called: Ashley Midtown.
Phase I: 168 rental units available in a variety of floorplans. From flats to townhomes. Market rate and rental assisted units coexist in this park like setting.
Phase II: Two and three bedroom townhomes currently priced between $117,000 and $124,000. Single-family homes start at $175,000
Phase III: off-site single family homes are three and four bedroom units at prices from $120,000 for affordable homes to $175,000 and up for market-rate homes.
Phase IV: 38 off-site rental units are currently under construction in the Benjamin Van Clark Park Neighborhood.
The Verandas: A wonderful elderly-only facility. Eighty -four one bedroom units and sixteen two bedroom units. Eighty-nine of which are project-based.
