Energy Saving Modifications and Upgrades
The Housing Authority of Savannah will receive bids for “Energy Saving Modifications and Upgrades” for the Fred Wessels Homes neighborhood in Savannah, Georgia. The bids must be received on or before 3:00 p.m. on August 5, 2010, at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, clearly marked “Fred Wessels Energy Saving Modifications” to Housing Authority of Savannah, 1407 Wheaton Street, Savannah, GA 31404 or mailed to P.O. Box 1179, Savannah, Georgia 31402.
Bidding documents may be obtained at no cost by downloading the following pdf file: Wessels Energy IFB. Printed copies may be obtained at the Housing Authority of Savannah, 1407 Wheaton Street, Savannah, Georgia 31404 for a nonrefundable cost of $25.00 (Check or Money Order only). Questions regarding the specifications should be directed to Walter Collins, telephone number (912) 235-5800 extension 105; FAX: (912) 233 2553 or email: wcollins@savannahpha.com. Questions must be submitted in writing and submitted by 3:00 PM on July 13, 2010.
Persons interested in submitting bids are encouraged to attend a pre-bid conference followed by an on-site inspection of the premises. The pre-bid conference shall begin at 10:00 a.m. on July 6, 2010. This meeting will be held at 1407 Wheaton Street, Savannah, Georgia 31404. Contractors are encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting, but attendance is not mandatory.
Bids must be accompanied by one of the following in an amount equal to 5% of the total bid:
Certified check or bank draft (payable to HAS)
U.S. Government Bonds
Satisfactory Bid Bond
The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for both satisfactory performance and payment bond(s) in the amount equal to 100% of the contract price. Attention is called to the provision for equal employment opportunity and payment of not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the specifications, which must be paid on this project. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the Housing Authority of Savannah. No member, officer or employee of the Housing Authority of Savannah, during his tenure or for two years thereafter, shall have any interest, direct or indirect, in this contract or the proceeds thereof.
The Housing Authority of Savannah reserves the right to reject any or all bids or waive informalities in the bidding process.
